For the benefit of other users, here’s what I found out.
There’s absolutely no glitches in Version 3.0.4.
The problem here was caused by Total Upkeep plugin.
Total Upkeep alters the auto-update system, and that is detected by WordPress Site Health as a possible problem, but according to @jesseo at BoldGrid, this is is actually by design.

I would suggest that Boldgrid add a note to their warnings so that other users do not have to look elsewhere for answers. Great plugin though.
