ParticipantAfter the new update of the theme, my Google Analytics and Google AdSense scripts which are located in the header of the theme header.php have disappeared. Why? I had to enter them manually again. Is it normal to happen this?

ModeratorDear gaddy,
Did you enter the Google Analytics and Google AdSense scripts in child theme or directly in parent theme header ? If you directly customize the parent theme header then it is normal that it will be disappeared on theme update. The best way to customize any theme through creating child theme. So, we recommend you to create child theme and add the scripts in child theme header file which protect your modification form parent theme update.January 25, 2019 at 8:21 am #44160gaddy
ParticipantGood question. No I did not install the child theme. I do not even know what is the same of child theme? How’s called and where I can find it? At the mmoment there is not a child theme developed and launched to install it.
Well I copied and pasted the analytics code and adsense directly in the header of the theme- This reply was modified 4 years ago by
