You already did this in other widget of this theme. When I take widget: ‘AT Woocommerce Products’ tell it to show ‘Categories’ than in next drop down is a BEAUTIFUL list with hierarchy 😉 – just let it be a multi-selection list.
Have a great day!Dear Support, I understand your business attitude, but the issue I’ve encountered is actualy a bug of the theme. You assume that every shop has just a several categories but have you ever test it with looots of categories and subcategories?
I’ve solve this kind of issue when editing menu with a short snip of code (plugin).

Maybe this will help you to fix the bug in your theme to preserve taxonomy hierarchy while widget personalizing.
